PTSD Re-Wind Therapy: Closure Without Disclosure!

This revolutionary way of treating PTSD has proven itself time after time with my clients and I felt I needed to give it some spotlight.

Re-Wind is a therapy created by Dr. David Muss and it involves no talking by the client, apart from acknowledging or informing that a task has been done. The client doesn't disclose any information to the therapist apart from the nature of the trauma and the client's position.

So, if you were a victim, a witness, a first responder or you even heard about an event and it has caused you distress, PTSD Re-Wind can help. It's a bold statement, but it's been recorded that people start to see the benefits of the treatment within days.

Normally two treatments are needed, two weeks apart. For more traumatic events a follow-up treatment in three months may be needed.

This sounds magical, doesn't it? It is, providing it's done correctly by both the treatment therapist and the client. It is not recommended to do it alone - a slight mistake in a step could prevent the treatment from fully working. If done properly, people will continue without intrusive thoughts or flashbacks and are less reactional to triggers. If the treatment isn't followed correctly by both the client or the therapist, the effects of the therapy will wear off in a few weeks and the client will return to the start and sadly have little trust for the success of the treatment.

I love this treatment so much because you don't tell me anything! You don't have to sit there and open up to a stranger about your worst trauma. You don't have to speak those words aloud and you won't feel self-conscious. It helps people without making them have to talk about it, and as someone that has suffered from PTSD, the last thing I want to do is constantly talk about it. I know I talk about it with you guys, but that's because I'm my own case study in showing you how these therapies work, so you don't feel alone.

How does this therapy work? The individual will watch themselves as they are subject to a 'screening' of the traumatic memory or event that is affecting them. They go on to imagine returning to their body and experiencing themselves 're-winding' through the trauma as if they were a character in the film being played backwards.

In simple terms, you watch the trauma on a big screen, and you then step into the screen and in seconds you're back to a point before the trauma. The process is no more than an hour at the very most, and some clients have managed in under 40 minutes.
